AI Decisioning: Let the Engine Pick Every Channel and Message

For each recipient, AI decisioning picks the channel and the creative, learns from every open, click, and conversion, and proves the lift against a built-in control group. No manual A/B tests.

What is AI decisioning?

AI decisioning is the use of machine learning — specifically reinforcement learning algorithms like Multi-Armed Bandits — to automatically choose the best action for each individual customer in real time: which channel to use, which message to send, when to send it, and whether to send anything at all. Instead of a marketer deciding these variables upfront and testing them manually, a decisioning engine learns continuously from every interaction and shifts its choices toward whatever is working best for each person.

This is a different model from traditional marketing automation, which runs fixed journeys built once and updated by hand. AI decisioning replaces those static rules with a system that keeps exploring and adapting — which is exactly what RevBridge’s engine does using Thompson Sampling, detailed further down this page.

AI decisioning at work: every variant tested, every round measured against control.

The engine does not decide in a vacuum. Customer 360 feeds the loop with each customer's history, and Brand DNA writes the variants it tests, across email, SMS, WhatsApp and push. And because pricing scales with your results, the measured lift is also your business case.

From manual A/B testing to autonomous decisions

A/B testing asks you to make every call yourself, then wait. The decision engine makes those calls per send, and never stops making them.

Your team today

With the decision engine

One channel picked for the entire audience

Channel decided per recipient, per send

A/B tests one variable at a time

Subject, body and CTA explored together

Days waiting for statistical significance

Traffic shifts continuously as results arrive

A winner is declared, then goes stale

Exploration never stops, so shifts get caught

By the time a traditional A/B test would declare a winner, the engine has already been sending the superior combination to most of your audience for days. And because exploration never stops, it catches behavior shifts that legacy platforms, locked into manual test-and-deploy cycles, only notice a cycle later.

What AI decisioning decides, and what counts as a win

Two levels of decision on every send, judged by weighted outcomes and proven against a control group.

What counts as a win

Every outcome carries a weight. Conversions and clicks build a variant up; unsubscribes, complaints and bounces cost it points. The engine optimizes for healthy engagement, not vanity clicks.

Around 10% of recipients are held out as a random control. Lift is the measured gap between the engine and that baseline, and revenue attribution ties it to actual orders.

Under the hood: Thompson Sampling

For every arm the engine can pick, a channel, a subject line, a CTA, it maintains a Beta distribution describing its belief about that arm’s true success rate. On each send it samples from every distribution and plays the highest draw. Confident winners get sampled high most often; uncertain arms still spike occasionally, which is exploration built into the math.

From first send to proven lift

01

Warmup: every option gets a fair start

The first sends rotate evenly across channels until each has around 20 samples. No commitments yet: the engine is building a reliable baseline for every arm before it starts concentrating traffic.

02

Confidence takes over

As results accumulate, confident arms win a growing share of traffic. Exploration never drops to zero, so a variant that starts performing later still gets discovered and promoted.

03

Lift accrues and gets proven

The holdout group keeps receiving the baseline. The gap between the engine and that control is your measured lift, and revenue attribution connects it to actual orders.
